Over the past few years, an increasing understanding of the connection between interstitial lung disease and vasculitis caused by anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic neutralizers has emerged. Autoantibodies that are specific for antigens found in the lysosomes of monocytes and the cytoplasmic granules of neutrophils are known as hostile to neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies.
