Trace Organic Analysis Top Journals

Organic trace analysis is for organic compounds found in a sample at or below the part-per-thousand stage. The study sets out the identity (qualitative result) and quantity (quantitative result). The challenge is to conduct the analysis under conditions where the relative quantities of other substances in the sample are vastly larger than the analyte's. In the sample for example matrix, it often becomes important to isolate the analyte from the bulk of the other compounds, such as possible interferences, before a final decision (amount) can be made. Typically, a final separation / identification is included in the final assessment. The use of organic tracers has become more widespread as measurement accuracy has increased, prices have decreased, and compounds that have traditionally been good tracers, such as lead, have decreased in atmospheric concentrations due to numerous factors including government regulation.
