These are generally broken down by sex, especially vaginal intercourse, anal sex and oral sex. Most STDs do not initially cause any symptoms. There are more than 20 types of sexually transmitted diseases; these include chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, HIV / AIDS, HPV, syphilis and trichomoniasis. STDs affect men and women of all ages and from all walks of life, including children. People can transmit STDs to sexual partners even if they have no symptoms.
