Regulatory affairs also called government affairs, is a profession within regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy, banking, telecom, etc. Regulatory affairs also have a very specific meaning within the healthcare industries (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biologics, and functional foods). Scopus is a bibliographic database containing abstracts and citations for academic journal articles. It covers nearly 21,000 titles from over 5,000 publishers, of which 20,000 are peer-reviewed journals in the scientific, technical, medical, and social sciences (including arts and humanities). It is owned by Elsevier and is available online by subscription. Searches in Scopus also incorporate searches of patent databases. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer-reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality and scientific validity. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
