The pharmacology of a drug can be studied under two subtitles, namely pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Pharmacodynamics that deals with the study and physiological and biochemical effects of the drug on the body and the mechanism of action of the drug, which can be briefly described as the study of what a drug does to the body. Scholarly journals are peer-reviewed journals in which research on a particular academic discipline is published. The scholarly journals serve as forums for introduction and presentation for the review of new research and the critique of existing research. Content is usually in the form of articles presenting original research, review articles and book reviews. The term scholarly journal applies to scholarly publications in all fields; this article deals with aspects common to all academic field journals.
