Natural Products Research

 

A natural product is a chemical compound or substances produced by a living organism. Natural products include any substance produced by living forms. By chemical synthesis, that is to say that natural semi-synthetic and total synthetic products are also produced and have played a central role in the development of the field of organic chemistry by providing difficult synthetic targets. The term natural product is also extended for commercial purposes such as cosmetics, food supplements and foods produced from natural sources with no artificial ingredients added. Certain natural products have pharmacological or biological activity which will help therapeutics in the treatment of diseases. Natural products are the active components not only of most traditional medicines but also of many modern medicines. Due to the structural diversity of natural products, they are easily synthesized by chemical processes and the synthetic analogy is also prepared with improved potency and safety, natural products are often used as starting points for drug discovery.
