Stem cells are specialized cell, capable of renewing themselves through cell division and can differentiate into multi-lineage cells. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells. They focus on the functional aspects of stem cell biology and the potential of different types of stem cells for therapeutic applications. These stem cells play an important role in applications like cell differentiation, gene therapy and transplantation. Several types of cells belonging to our skeletal tissues, such as cartilage, bone and fat are made by MSCs. Quantitative assessment tool for grading, evaluating, sorting is provided by the impact factor of journal. By dividing the number of current year citations to the source items published in that journal in the last 2 years the impact factor of a journal is evaluated.
