Laparotomy is a surgical procedure that involves an abdominal surgery making one large incision. In an attempt to reduce surgical morbidity, minimally invasive procedures have been developed and have been shown to be feasible and safe alternatives to open surgery with shorter LOS decreased blood loss and decreased postoperative complications. After 10 years the introduction of the robotic platform in gynecologic surgery, the major procedures for endometrial and cervical cancer in United States are performed by invasive approach.
