The impact factor (FI) or the impact factor of a diary (JIF) of a college diary is a scientometric record which mirrors the normal yearly number of references got by articles distributed over the most recent two years in a given audit. It is frequently used as an indicator of the relative importance of a journal in its field; journals with higher impact factors are often considered more important than those with lower factors. The impact factor was designed by Eugene Garfield, the founder of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). Impact factors are calculated each year from 1975 for the journals listed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).ISI was procured by Thomson Scientific and Healthcare in 1992 and got known as Thomson ISI. In 2018, Thomson ISI was offered to Onex Corporation and Baring Private Equity Asia. They founded a new company, Clarivate, which is now the editor of JCR
