Heart Transplantation Review Articles

Heart is a muscular organ that plays a major part in pumping blood through the circulatory system's blood vessels throughout the body. It is able to supply oxygen and nutrients to the body in blood, and it can eliminate all the metabolic waste. The heart’s location lies specifically in the mediastinum, the thorax’s middle compartment. Heart transplantation is a replacement of the sick or wounded heart of a patient with a healthy donor organ. It is a surgical procedure performed on end-stage heart disease patients. Heart transplantation cannot be considered a cure for heart disease, but to improve the quality of life it can be considered a treatment. Patients with end-stage heart disease that endangers their lives may be considered for heart transplantation after proper medical treatment.
