Forensic hair is a scientific way of examining trace evidence from a crime scene that includes investigative the hair shaft, including its medulla (inner core), cortex (intermediate layer) and cuticle through influential microscopes. Hair evidence must be collected properly and researched confer to protocols. The first step of the analysis involves verifying whether the hair in question is that of a human or an animal. They often have coarse guard hair external to softer fur hairs. They also provide whiskers and longer hairs in such places as the tail and mane.
