Family Planning Practice And Prevalence Of Short Birth Spacing

Family planning allows couples to determine and determine the number of children they want and the spacing of their births. Short birth spacing has negative effects on mothers, children and the family. The objectives of the study were to determine the prevalence of family planning practice and birth spacing among married couples residing in the suburbs and to determine their knowledge and levels of attitude toward the practice of family planning. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 86 married couples. Systematic random sampling was applied and consenting respondents were interviewed using a validated questionnaire. In the study, short birth spacing was defined as any interval from birth to pregnancy less than 24 months.
