Endometriosis is mainly an estrogen-dependent disease. Endometriosis is characterized by the ectopic presence and growth of functional endometrial tissue, glands and stroma outside the uterine cavity. The disease most often affects the ovaries uterine ligaments, fallopian tubes, rectum, cervico-vaginal region and urinary tract. Urinary tract involvement is rare, accounting for about 1 to 2% of all cases, 84% of which are in the bladder.endometriosis can be encountered in other abdominal organs such as the liver,spleen, pancreas, intestinal tract, gallbladder, abdominal wall .It is classified because of number, size and surface and deep location of implants, plaques, endometriomas and / or endometrial adhesions, as follows: stage I (minimum, 1 -5 points), stage II (mild, 6 -15 points), stage III (moderate, 16-40 points) and stage IV (severe,> 40 points), in accordance with the revised classification of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine for endometriosis. endometriotic lesions could be divided into superficial peritoneal endometriosis, deep infiltrating endometriosis and ovarian endometriosis. It is estimated that around 10% of women of childbearing age are affected by this disease and its symptoms.
