Decolorization Experiments

"For the discoloration experiments, five agar caps (6 mm in diameter) of active mycelium from the PDA plate were aseptically transferred into 500 ml Erlenmeyer flasks containing 100 ml of autoclave PDB medium and RBBR (60 mg L -1) or the coloring effluent at different concentrations of 30% (v / v) The pH of the PDB medium was adjusted using 1.0 M NaOH or 1.0 M HCl. incubated at 28 ° C in rotary shakers operating at 150 rpm Biotic (sterilized medium, without addition of dye) and experimental abiotic control sets (sterilized medium containing the effluent but not inoculated with the fungus) also been prepared and maintained in parallel with the bleaching experiments. Different technologies can be used for bleaching wastewater containing dyes. Among them, the biological processes are the most promising because they seem safe for the environment. this study was to determine the effectiveness of the discoloration of two dyes belonging to different classes (azo and triphenylmeth donkey dyes) by immobilized biomass of fungal strains (Pleurotus ostreatus - BWPH, Gleophyllum odoratum - DCa and Polyporus picipes - RWP17) . Different solid supports have been tested for the immobilization of biomass. The best growth of fungal strains was observed on the washer, brush, grid and sawdust supports. Based on the dye adsorption results, the brush and washer were selected for further study. These solids support dyes adsorbed to a negligible level, while sawdust adsorbed 82.5% brilliant green and 19.1% Evans blue. The immobilization of the biomass improved the elimination of the dyes.
