Chemical Data Analysis Impact Factor

Study of creators of e‐prints showing up in the Chemistry Preprint Server (CPS) at http://preprints.chemweb.com demonstrates utilization of the CPS as a helpful vehicle for dispersal of research discoveries and for receipt of input before submitting to a peer‐reviewed diary. Gathering of CPS e‐prints by editors of top science diaries is poor. Just 6% of editors reacting permit distribution of articles that have recently showed up as e‐prints. Concerns center around the absence of companion survey and the dubious perpetual quality of e‐print stockpiling. Subsequently, it was to be expected to find that reference investigation yielded no references to CPS e‐prints in the customary writing of science. However, information gathered and posted by the CPS demonstrates that the e‐prints are esteemed, perused, and talked about to a striking degree inside the science network.
