A catalyst is somewhat the material that speeds up chemical reactions. Factories depend on on catalysts to make everything from plastic to drugs. Catalysts help in processing petroleum and coal into liquid fuels. They are key players in clean-energy technology. Natural catalysts in the body are known as enzymes that even play important roles in digestion and more. During any chemical reaction the molecules break chemical bonds between their atoms. The atoms also subsequently make new bonds with different atoms. A molecule may have certain properties that let it pull away atoms from another molecule. But in stable partnerships the molecules are contented as they are. Left together for a very long period of time but a few might eventually switch partners. But there is no mass agitated of bond breaking and rebuilding.
