A biologic threat is an infectious disease caused by germs such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, other microorganisms and they are associated toxins with the potential to spread and cause an outbreak. A biological attack is the intentional release of a pathogen which is a disease causing agent or biotoxin which is a poisonous substance produced by a living organism against humans, plants, or animals. The attack against people could be used to cause illness, death, fear, societal disruption, and economic damage. In order for a chemical to harm a person's health, it must first come into contact with the body and it must have some biological effect on the body. There are four major routes by which a chemical may enter the body inhalation, skin contact.
