Aerospace is that the human effort in science, engineering, and business to fly within the atmosphere of Earth (aeronautics) and surrounding space (astronautics). Aerospace organizations research, design, manufacture, operate or maintain aircraft or spacecraft. Aerospace activity is extremely diverse, with a multitude of economic, industrial, and military applications. Aerospace engineering, particularly the astronautics branch, is usually colloquially mentioned as rocket science.
