Biography

Tanja Perko (1974) worked in many fields related to communication; she began her career as a TV journalist reporting on different crises, at a later stage she acted as a head of PR department in the cabinet of defense minister (Slovenia) and finally as a risk communication researcher. She involved herself in quantitative and qualitative risk research at the Political Science at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) with modelling of risk perception and risk communication. She is a scientific collaborator at the Belgian Nuclear Research Institute in the expert group Science and Technology Studies. Currently she investigates information processing in relation to radiological emergencies. She is also consultant for stakeholder involvement and risk communication for different projects at International Atomic Energy Agency and a member of Media, Movements and Politics research group (M²P) which focuses on the relationship between institutional politics and society.
