Dr. Rama M. Tunuguntla is the Interim Dean of the College of Professional Studies at Grambling State University in Louisiana. The College constitutes four major professional programs – The School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, the Department of Criminal Justice and the Department of Mass Communication.
He received master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota. He has been with Grambling State University for more than 25 years. He was instrumental in the creation of the Department of Mass Communication at Grambling in 1988, and chaired the program from 1988 to 2005. 
A native of India, he was a professional journalist for more than decade with The Deccan Chronicle, The Times of India and the United News of India in various capacities as copy-editor, night editor and deputy editor and reporter. His research interests include international communication, intercultural communication and developmental communication. He has made several research presentations at national conferences in the recent years.
