Biography

She is Professor of Applied Biology and Genetics at Verona University, School of Medicine & Surgery, School of Dentistry & Dental Prosthetics, Degree courses in health, prevention and rehabilitation professions. Member of the Teaching staff (Collegio Docenti) of the PhD school in Applied Sciences of Life and Health/Genomics Program.

Research Interest

Her research is focused on Human Molecular Genetics and Molecular bases of Genetic diseases. She has been actively involved in research concerning Osteogenesis Imperfecta for over 25 years She has been collaborating with bone endocrinologists in the search for new genetic markers of osteoporosis in Italian families. She was involved in investigations concerning LCT gene polymorphisms (population genetics studies). She is presently collaborating with cell biologists, bone endocrinologists and molecular biologists in studies focusing on bone mineralization defects. She is a member of the International Consortium for Osteogenesis Imperfecta. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian OI Association (AsItOI).
