Margarita G. Papazahariadou Professor, Laboratory of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases, School of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Degrees and Professional Qualifications: D.V.M., Ph. D., Diplomate EVPC. Research Interests: Parasitic fauna (detection and identification) of protozoa, helminths and arthropods of all animals and man as well as on prevention and therapy of many parasitic diseases, the potential use of various aromatic plants or their extracts as alternatives coccidiostatic against E. tenella challenged chickens, detection and identification of dust mites as the most common aeroallergens in asthmatic man and atopic dogs. Current research is focused on toxoplasmosis. 75 publications in international and Greek scientific journals. Participation in 50 international and national Parasitology conferences. Member of 9 Scientific Organizations. Reviewer of 5 Scientific Journals. Editorial Board Member of 2 Scientific Journal

Research Interest

Research on parasitic fauna (detection and identification) of protozoa, helminths and arthropods) of all animals and man as well as on prevention and therapy of many parasitic diseases.

Research on the control of Coccidiosis ( Eimeriosis) of chickens with various aromatic plants or their extracts (ground oregano, oregano essential oil, Sideritis scardica, Fraxinus ornus) et. al. as alternatives coccidiostatic against the coccidian E. tenella challenged chickens.

Research on dust mites as the most common aeroallergens in asthmatic man and atopic dogs.
