  Developing a computational tool to forecast the acute toxicity of biocidal active chemicals and its environmental degradation products for aquatic species is one of the objectives of the European project LIFE-COMBASE. Data on these compounds' toxicity to species in the freshwater/marine and sewage treatment plant compartments have been included in a database. In order to determine whether these substances could be hazardous to aquatic compartments, this study will assess the data that has been gathered.
