Satoshi Morita has received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the School of Public Health at The University of Tokyo in 2003. Currently, He is working as Professor and Chairman of Department of Biomedical Statistics and Bioinformatics, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine.
His research interests include Bayesian statistics and clinical trial design. Over the course of his career, he has designed over 100 clinical trials in oncology and other areas. He has published over 200 research papers and book chapters in the statistical and medical literature. He has served as an advisory expert for The Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), a representative of Japan Society of Clinical Oncology, a biostatistical advisor for Japan Surgical Society, a statistical consultant of General Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, an associate editor for Surgery Today and Respiratory Investigation, and an editorial board member for Journal of Biometrics & Biostatistics and International Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Gastric Cancer, Japanese Journal of Clinical Oncology, Digestive Endoscopy.
