Biography

Kenny Vaden. Although our typical experiences with speech communication seem simple and effortless, changes in noise level, hearing loss, age, and brain structure or function can impact the difficulty of speech recognition - particularly for older adults. I study the systems that support speech recognition in difficult conditions, and how age can affect neural systems that work to access information in the speech signal. I am a Research Assistant Professor working with Dr. Mark Eckert in the Hearing Research Program at the Medical University of South Carolina,
