Biography

Jack Powers is currently working as Assistant Professor in RH Park School of Communication, Ithaca. He is advising 50 students every semester; supervising internships and independent studies; participating actively in departmental, school, college and professional service activities, and admissions and recruiting events.The courses he used to study like Introduction to Media Industries, Introduction to Mass Media, Social Effects of Mass Media on Children (Senior Seminar), Quantitative Mass Media Research Methods, Qualitative Mass Media Research Methods, Mass Media Research Methods, Entertainment Media Writing, Media Writing. In 2004-2006, he was adjunct professor in New House School of Public Communications, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. There he offered course like Social Effects of Television, Television and Children, Media Effects Seminar.

Jack Powers area of interest is in the field of The media and the urban, mass communication research, research on insecurity,trust research and social science risk research.
