Cecília Volkmer-Ribeiro

Biography

Cecilia Volkmer-Ribeiro completed his graduation in Natural History from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1960, specialization from University of São Paulo in 1961 and Free-Teaching by Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1976.  She is a retired researcher of the State Department of the Environment of Rio Grande do Sul State. Currently, he co-directs postgraduate students at the Federal University of Amazonas as well as at the Federal University of Ouro Preto and UFRGS. He has an experience in Zoology, with main focus on Taxonomy of Recent Groups.

Research Interest

 freshwater sponges (taxonomy, evolution, ecology, palaeoindication) continental benthos, surveys, habitats and continental aquatic biodiversity.
