Lauritzen has done her PhD in health sciences at the Health Sciences, University of Tromsø. She has completed her education from University of Tromsø (teacher education) and the University of Tromsø (masters). Wrote thesis about youth and identity development. Having previously worked as a teacher and as a special at Tvibit to prevent dropout from school for teenage girls. Was appointed project manager for the pilot project Children in Reception in 2006 by RKBU Nord. Lauritzen,was PhD student in the subject children as caregivers of mentally ill parents. Also working with child welfare supervision.
