Abstract :

The deterioration of pupils' health in Russia in recent decades has made it necessary to introduce a system of school medicine in educational organizations. However, this project does not take into account the possibilities of the teaching staff in its implementation. Aim of the study: to justify the role and importance of teachers in the realization of the project "School medicine". Results based on the data of the author and the team headed by him, the main directions of teachers' work are creating a health-preserving environment in an educational organization, participating in screening diagnostics and monitoring of physical and mental health of pupils, forming a healthy and safe life style, fulfillment of sanitary and hygienic conditions of learning, as well as cooperation with medical personnel in the implementation of medical and hygienic tasks. The system of assessment of pupils' health, which can be defined as the first stage of physiological, psychological, and medical examination of schoolchildren, is presented. Conclusion: the results of study can be used in the process of training students and masters of pedagogical universities for further usage in the country's education system.

Biography :

Roman Aizman has graduated from Novosibirsk Medical University in 1972, and got his Doctor degree from Moscow Research Institute of Developmental Physiology in 1985. He is the Head of the Dept. of Human Anatomy, Physiology and Life Safety, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Health and Safety, Professor of Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, Russia. He has over 800 publications that have been cited over 5900 times, and his publication H-index is 32.
