Abstract :

Following tooth extraction we can expect changes in residual ridge dimensions. Difficult tooth extraction procedures mat also result in additional bone loss due to surgical trauma. Preserving the alveolar ridges at the time of the tooth extraction helps minimize difficulties during subsequent implant placement. Long-Term esthetic success requires vital alveolar bone to support healthy keratinized tissue and dictate soft tissue profile, which follows the underlying bone contour. Several techniques have been employed as ridge preservation and ridge augmentation procedures. The emphasis of this presentation will be on the use of demineralized autologous tooth graft in combination with biological modifiers as a new gold standard when treating bone deficiencies.
