Editorial

Research into the connections between chemistry and human life is a fast expanding field of science and technology. Chemistry has been the branch of science that deals with the chemical composition, structure, and characteristics of matter and other substances over the previous half-century. Chemical compositions make up the human body, and the environment necessary to maintain human existence is inextricably linked to chemical compositions of matter.

As a result, we are delighted to publish this Special Issue, "Environmental Benefits and Drawbacks of the COVID-19 Pandemic," which focuses on important leading areas. We're growing our editorial board to fill in the gaps and continue to improve our publication. Dr. R.K. Singhal, Head of Analytical Spectroscopy Section, Department of Analytical Chemistry Division Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Deemed University Mumbai, India, has agreed to serve as one of the journal's editors. I've included a brief profile on him. I am certain that the magazine will be able to improve the linkages between scientometrics and other STS (science, technology and society) streams as a result of His efforts. His profile may be seen in the first issue for those who are interested. His addition to the editorial board will aid in the journal's coordination and management. Dr. R.K. Singhal is a renowned library and information science scholar. His appointment as Assistant Editor will be extremely beneficial to the journal's editing process.

Over the last two decades, there has been a nearly 10-fold rise in the number of relevant articles published each year, owing to increased interest in the science and applications of chemical techniques.

The manuscripts for this Special Issue were peer-reviewed according to the Environmental Analytical Chemistry's standard procedures; as a result, the collection of papers included here aims to provide the most recent developments in a field of ever-growing scientific, industrial, and socio-economic interest. Leading specialists from universities, research institutions, companies, and hospitals from Europe, America, Asia, and Australia are among the authors.

Finally, we'd like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of the contributors to this Special Issue for their time and work. We also like to express our gratitude to Dr. R.K. Singhal, Editor of the Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, for his help with the papers in this Special Issue. Readers will have a better grasp of the developments in COVID-19 as a result of the epidemic.
