The method in molecular biology to detect a specific DNA sequence in DNA samples is known as Southern blot. Southern blotting is also known as DNA blotting. The name Southern blot is named after the name of the biologist Southern. A journal is a periodic publication intended to advance science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the older journals publish articles, journals, editorials, short papers, letters and scientific articles in a wide range of scientific fields. The journals contain peer-reviewed articles, to ensure that the articles meet the quality and scientific validity standards of the journal.
