With the increase in scientific research in yoga, its therapeutic aspects are also being explored. Yoga is reported to decrease stress and anxiety, improve autonomic function by triggering neurohormonal mechanisms by suppressing sympathetic activity, and even, nowadays, several reports suggest that yoga is beneficial for physical health cancer patients. This worldwide recognition of yoga also testifies to the growing cultural influence of India.
