Physical fitness is a measure of the body's ability to function effectively and can be defined as a person's state of health and well-being. Fitness can be achieved through good nutrition, exercise, rest, and moderate to vigorous physical activity.
The main purpose was to get in to the role of physical inactivity in the development of chronic disease and premature death. We confirm that there is compelling evidence of the effectiveness of regular physical activity in the primary and secondary prevention of several chronic diseases (eg, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity , depression and osteoporosis) and premature death. We also reveal that Health Canada's current physical activity guidelines are sufficient to provide health benefits, particularly for those who were previously sedentary. It seems that there is a linear relationship between physical activity and health status, so that a further increase in physical activity and physical condition will lead to further improvements in health status.
