Multiple sclerosis (MS) is mainly a disease of adults. However, the onset of MS in children accounts for up to 5% of all MS cases. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is described as an inflammatory, demyelinating neurodegenerative disorder of the central nervous system (CNS) and is rarely seen in pediatric patients. Pediatric MS accounts for approximately 2.2% to 4.4% of all MS cases in late childhood, affects more girls than boys and is characterized by relapsing-remitting course in almost all cases. Although much has been learned about the diagnosis and treatment of adult MS patients, it remains a subject of debate and controversy in childhood. The purpose of this report is to describe the case of 9-year-old girls with MS and to discuss current knowledge for the diagnosis of MS and the therapeutic possibilities.
