Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease associated with the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta. It is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that belongs to a group of conditions called movement disorders. It is both chronic, which means that it persists over a long period and progressive, which means that its symptoms worsen over time. As nerve cells (neurons) in certain parts of the brain become damaged or die, people may start to notice movement problems, tremors, stability in the limbs or trunk of the body, or changes in the body. balanced. As these symptoms become more pronounced, people may find it difficult to walk, talk, or do other simple tasks [2]. Patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) suffer from a severe loss of dopamine in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc), resulting in disruption of the function of the basal ganglia and loss of motor control [3]. The main characteristics of the disease are its triad of motor characteristics: tremors at rest, rigidity and akinesia / bradykinesia (inability to initiate movement and slowness of movement, respectively). Gait and postural disorders also characterize the disease.
