Oxidative stress is basically an imbalance between the free radicals production and body’s capacity to detoxify or counteract their damaging effects by antioxidants through neutralization process. Cells must respond to this imbalance before cellular structures, basically DNA are damaged by highly reactive molecules. Prolonged and Severe oxidative stress leads to necrosis and apoptosis. Various pathological conditions have a portion of oxidative stress, including neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimers disease, cardiovascular diseases and chronic inflammation.
