Microalgae-Open-Access- Journals

Microalgae have been explored for their bioactive compounds with promising applications encompassing antifungal, antibacterial, antialgal and antiviral activities. Considering the present status of broadly used treatment therapies and their limitations to tackle their adverse effects, the application of bioactive compounds derived from algae will prove beneficial and much more persuasive as compared with traditional treatment methods. Due to the emerging infectious diseases, viral infections (epidemic and pandemic) and raise in antibiotic resistant bacteria, there is an urgent need for development of alternative treatment therapies against infectious diseases. Present work provides a brief establishment about the algal bioactive compounds and their activities against various pathogens. DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and cater access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. Directory of Open Access Journals is independent.
