Malaria Zoonoses

Malaria was an antroponosis caused by four species of Plasmodium until recently after the discovery of malaria parasites and their transmission by anophelines. Such parasites have been spread by vectors throughout the world among humans. Coatney et al . have reported the first known human case of Plasmodium knowlesi, naturally infected simian malaria. Almost half a century later this discovery has been renewed using molecular techniques to detect and identify simian malaria, in particular P. knowlesi. One of the leading Open Access Publications, OMICS Group International publishes over 700 pairs of peer reviewed articles. Bacteriology & Parasitology Journals is one of the leading reviews publishing high-quality articles, findings concerning bacteria and medical parasites of human or veterinary interest.
