Journal on Annular Pancreas is the most credible online publication. Pancreas Journal (JOP) has its distinction in publishing the most innovative and revised research knowledge in the form of editorials and articles of analysis. Annular pancreas is a rare condition that outgrows some of the pancreatic tissue and surrounds duodenum. This extra tissue originates from the pancreatic ear. It causes duodenum constriction thus blocking the flow of food to the remaining portion of the intestines. The prevalence of annular pancreas incidence is 1 in 12,000 to 15,000 newborns. It normally happens because of irregular or extra development of the embryology. But some cases of adults were also reported. Early symptoms of dysfunction include polyhydramnios, low birth weight and immediate after birth feeding intolerance. The majority of cases are diagnosed with symptoms of gastric outlet obstruction during the neonatal phase. We note an rare case of AP that has acute upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding in an child.
