Genito Pelvic Actinomycosis

Genito-pelvic actinomycosis represents approximately 5% of cases of actinomycosis. It is a suppurative infection that occurs most often due to the use of intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUCD). The other causes of actinomycosis of the abdomen are: immunodeficiency, digestive surgery, trauma. There are multiple clinical presentations of pelvic actinomycosis but they are rarely localized to the psoas. We report a case of secondary psoas abscess following removal of an IUCD that was associated with severe sepsis and symptoms suggestive of a tumor with compression of the ureter. Journal of Medical Diagnostic Methods Open Access is one of the best online publishing journals for research in the field of genito-pelvic actinomycosis. The open access articles published in this scholarly journal are reviewed by at least two reviewers of associated fields.  To ensure high quality articles, editors and reviewers actively participate in the peer review process and help complete the review process within 21 days. As an important educational platform, the journal allows scientists and researchers to access the latest research trends and perspectives.
