Echocardiography Top Journals

Echocardiography is a journal published eight times a year which provides concise and current articles on specific applications of diagnostic ultrasound and other related techniques. It includes case reports, group discussions, bibliographic reviews, news and summaries of non-English literature. In addition, it reviews the original articles for publication after appropriate peer review. The editorial content is enhanced with color illustrations and provides the reader with current trends, latest advances and research in this area.

Contrast echocardiography has become an indispensable tool in non-invasive imaging. Over the past decade, new contrast agents and contrast-specific imaging technologies have simplified the clinical use of contrast agents and significantly improved the images acquired. However, there is a price to pay: overtime, agent costs and a low risk of intolerance reactions. Significant improvements have been made in other cardiac imaging modalities that complement or compete with echocardiography. Therefore, it seems reasonable to review the clinical indications for approved ultrasound contrast agents.

Contrast agents available and appropriate imaging techniques

Currently, three contrast agents are authorized for of the left ventricle (LV) and endocardial definition:, Italy), (BMS, US) and (GE, US). The latter is currently not available. All of these agents provide intensive clouding of the left heart chambers when administered intravenously.
