Clinical anxiety disorder is a part of life expectancy. You may feel nervous when confronted with a work-related question, before taking a test or before making a significant decision. But there's more to anxiety disorders than acute worry or terror. The fear does not go away for a person with an anxiety disorder, and can get worse over time. The symptoms can interfere with day-to-day activities like job performance, school work, and connections. There are different types of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and other conditions related to phobia. People with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) exhibit extreme anxiety or concern about a variety of issues like personal safety, jobs, social interactions, and daily life situations, most days for at least 6 months. The fear and anxiety in areas of their lives, such as social interactions, school, and work, can trigger major problems.
