A journal is a journal that aims to advance science, generally by reporting on new investigations. While some of the oldest publications publish articles, reports, advertisers, short correspondence, letters and research papers in a wide number of scientists, most journals are highly specialized. Journals include articles peer reviewed to ensure the articles follow the consistency and scientific validity requirements of the journal. Each of these journals is included in the scientific record permanently.
