A heart attack happens when the stream of oxygen rich blood to a division of heart muscle abruptly becomes blocked and the heart cannot get oxygen. If blood flow isn’t rebuilt quickly, the portion of heart muscle begins to expire. Heart attack therapy works best when it’s given right after symptoms occur. More than a million Americans have majority of heart attacks each year. Heart attacks are also named as myocardial infarctions. "Myo" refers to muscle, "cardial" means to the heart, and "infarction" means death of tissue because of a shortage of blood supply. This tissue death can cause enduring damage to your heart muscle. Journal of Coronary Heart Diseases publishes full length articles related to field of cardiology, heart diseases, cardiovascular diseases and many more.
