Arthroscopy likewise called arthroscopic surgery or keyhole surgery. The word arthroscopy arrived from two Greek words, "arthro" (joint) and "skopein" (to look). The term literally means "to look within the joint." Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical strategy on a joint in which an examination and constantly the treatment of damage is performed using an arthroscope, an endoscope that is infused into the joint through a small incision. A small incision (about the size of a buttonhole) will be made to implant the arthroscope. Many other incisions may be made to see other parts of the joint or embed other instruments It is a surgical procedure orthopedic surgeons use to visualize, diagnose, and treat problems inside a joint and is an outpatient method. Arthroscopy is done by using general, spinal, regional, or local anesthetic.
