Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology
Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, USA

Biography

“Although his primary focus has always been understanding neuroscience at the molecular level, Dr. Trongha Phan's training was diverse and extensive. He obtained three bachelor degrees in Biochemistry, Neurobiology and Psychology. Subsequently, he completed a master degree in analytical chemistry before obtaining his Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology/Neuroscience. He obtained all of his degrees at the University of Washington in Seattle. Thereafter, he trained at MIT for 5 years as a postdoctoral fellow in the Picower Institute for Learning and Memory. He is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Neurology department of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His primary research on elucidating molecular underpinning of the nexus of sleep/circadian rhythm and learning and memory (in health and in disease) has garnered interests internationally. He has presented his findings at various scientific venues. His long-term goal is to gain a better understanding of Alzheimer's disease to design therapeutic treatment”

Research Interest
