Biography

Dr. Sukesh R. Bhaumik has started his own research program as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, USA, in 2003. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. His research is focused on the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression and maintenance of active genome integrity with implications in human diseases. He has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, he has presented his research in several national/international conferences. His research program has been funded by National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Edward J. Mallinckrodt Foundation, Excellence in Academic Medicine and several internal grants of Southern Illinois University. He serves the scientific community as a reviewer of many peer-reviewed journals and research funding agencies.
