Dr. Shinichi Ito is currently an Assistant Professor of Department of Dental Anesthesiology, Faculty of Dental Science, Kyushu University, Japan. He received D.D.S. from Kyushu University in Japan. After graduating from Kyushu University School of Dentistry in 1989, he enrolled in Kyushu University Graduate School of Dental Science. His research training in pharmacology was obtained at Department of Pharmacology, Graduate School of Medical Science, Kyushu University, and he completed his Ph.D. (Dental Science) in 1993. Dr. Ito clinical training as a dental anesthesiologist was performed in Kyushu University Dental Hospital. His research is focusing on the intracellular calcium dynamics in various types of cells including neuron and the presynaptic nerve terminal in the central nervous system.
Dr. Shinichi Ito clinical and pharmacological research is focused on the mechanism of action of anesthetic general anesthetics.
