Biography

Dr. Amri is among the senior lecturer in the Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering in the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). He has received his B.Sc. and M.Eng. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and PhD from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) with partly attachment at University of Kentucky (UKY), Lexington, USA. He has been Head Department of Manufacturing and Industrial, Head of Department of Strategic Planning Management, and Deputy Dean of Research Management Center, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). Dr. Amri has professional and research interests in sustainable machining of manufacturing process including conventional and advanced machining process. Apart of that, his current research topics includes modelling and optimization of machining process, the materials characterization including surface science and underneath surface study. The newest latest research is in the field of waste recovery and recycling technology whereby he has developed several new techniques in recycling waste aluminium chips employing Hot Press Forging, Hot Extrusion, Cold Pressed and Powder Metallurgy. He has supervised several numbers Ph.D, M. Sc. and B.Sc students. He has written and co-authored over 50 scientific papers and four text books. Dr. Amri has industrial work experiences which include several years engineering assignments with Revertex (M) Corporation UK Plc. based company and National Panasonic (M) Corporation Japanese based company. He also has several consulting experiences with national organizations including private sectors. Dr. Amri is a Senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineer (SME) in USA, a member of Design of Experiment Society (DOES) in USA, a member of Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and a member of Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a member of Environmental Management and Research Association of Malaysia (ENSEARCH), and a member of International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) in Austria.
